Rendering

From a visual standpoint, what the player sees on the screen, the rendered scene, is the most important aspect. What the player usually does not realize is all the work that goes into producing that rendered scene; the work done by the rendering system. The rendering subsystem in Unreal Engine 3 not only handles the rendering of geometry and other items to the screen, but also covers a range of other systems, such as lighting and shadows, materials, and post processing. All of these work in conjunction to produce the final rendered scene and give the game its look and feel.
